Timeline of the Impeachment of Donald Trump

June 2016 – On behalf of The DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign, Fusion GPS hires Christopher Steele to write the Steele Dossier, a collection of false allegations, attributed to Russian sources, claiming that Candidate Donald Trump is a Russian Agent.

January 6, 2017 – FBI Director Comey briefs President Elect Trump on the Steele Dossier. The briefing is leaked to CNN and soon afterwards, Buzzfeed publishes the Dossier.

January 20, 2017 (Inauguration Day) – Washington Post runs a story with the headline “The Campaign to Impeach Donald Trump has Begun”

January 30, 2017 – Mark Zaid, the “whistleblower’s” lawyer tweets: “#coup has started. First of many steps. #rebellion. #impeachment will follow ultimately…”

March 22, 2017 – Democrats proclaim that they have “more than circumstantial evidence” that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

July 12, 2017 – An article of impeachment is filed in the House of Representatives.

November 15, 2017 – Democrats file additional articles of impeachment against President Trump

February 2, 2018 – Memo was released that revealed that the FBI used fabrications in the Steele Dossier to obtain a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

September 5, 2018 – New York Time prints a column of an anonymous Trump administration official who explains that he and other senior officials are “working diligently from within to frustrate parts of Trump’s agenda”.

December 7, 2018 – James Comey admits that the Steele Dossier was unverified both before and after it was used to obtain the warrant to spy on a Trump associate.

May 4, 2019 – A democratic congressman says “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get reelected.”

July 24, 2019 – Robert Mueller testifies before congress and states that there was no collusion with the Russians by the Trump campaign.

July 25, 2019 – Contents of a phone call between Trump and Ukranian president Zelensky were leaked to the “whistleblower”

September 13, 2019 – Democrats issue a press release concerning the “whistleblower’s” complaint.

October 2, 2019 – It was revealed that the Democrats were in contact with the “whistleblower” before actually filing the complaint to the inspector general, which contradicted he denials that such contact had occurred.

October 31, 2019 – Democrats in the House of Representatives vote to open an impeachment inquiry against president Trump
